General
Sleeps 6 in 3 Bedrooms - 5 minute walk from seafront
The cottage has recently been refurbished, has gas central heating and is fully double-glazed. Entrance to the cottage is through a blue gate at the end of the footpath leading into a private courtyard with a path running around the side of the cottage to a south-facing garden.
We request that there be no smoking and no pets.
Kitchen
A stable door leads into the kitchen with a terracotta and cream ceramic titled floor. It is fully fitter and well equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine and microwave.
Bathroom
Off the kitchen the bathroom with the same ceramic tiled floor. It has a bath and a walk-in shower.
Lounge
The lounge, also off the kitchen and a step-down, has an oak floor with a window seat looking out into the garden and French Doors leading out into a sunny south-facing garden with a patio and a Chimnea BBQ. The lounge has an electric flame effect stove in the original fireplace and leather sofas, table and chairs to seat six, television with Digital Freeview, Video, DVD and CD player.
Bedrooms
Mackerel Cottage has 3 bedrooms. The first on the ground floor, through a door from the lounge with a window looking into the south-facing garden. It has twin beds, large wardrobe space, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets.
A staircase from the lounge leads to two quirky south facing bedrooms both with glimpses of the sea and Otter Head. One bedroom has twin beds, the other a double. There is a high chair and travel cot at the cottage, please bring cot bedding.
Duvets and pillows are provider; please bring duvet covers, sheets, pillowcases and towels. Alternatively, we now offer linen hire at the price of £18.00 for a double and £14.00 for a single bed. Please indicate your requirements on your booking form and add the cost of linen hire to the price of the week.
Amenities
Budleigh Salterton High Street, pebble beach, River Otter and the Cricket Ground are only 5 minutes walk taking various quiet routes. The renowned East Devon Golf Club is a 5 minute drive, and the sandy beach of Exmouth is just a 10 minute drive, or a 20 minute bus trip. The Exmouth to Sidmouth bus route stops outside the entrance to the cottage.
Budleigh Salterton is a quiet town with many local amenities such as a local Doctors Surgery and Pharmacy, butchers, fishmongers, greengrocers, bakeries, Spar/Co-op, several restaurants and cafes, as well as several banks with cashpoint machines and many nice gift shops.
